Therapeutic Uses For Pure Hemp CBD

Cannabidiol oils are used for therapeutic purposes; even though, the current drug laws in the United States make it a controversial subject.

Indeed, the rugged medical history of Cannabis has not helped matters in clarifying the confusion surrounding the effects of Cannabinoids (CBD) to the body.

However, there has been relentless research by scientists on the medical advantages CBD contends in the human body. Of critical importance, scientists are trying to establish the right pharmaceutical quantities that can treat a variant of conditions effectively.

Some of the conditions scientists are paying close attention to due to the early promises of CBD include Diabetes, Fibromyalgia, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Schizophrenia, Crohn’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and Insomnia.

Why CBD is causing a Buzz in the Medical World

Only until recently, the main medical compound within marijuana known to scientists is delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Indeed, of all marijuana elements, this is the most active and prominent. THC has a problem and perhaps, the single most weakness that led to authorities banning cannabis.

THC is the certain substance in marijuana that makes people “high” whose high dosages lead to hallucinations or even brain damage.

CDB is known to be non-psychoactive, which essentially means, it does not alter the state of mind of the individual using it. This is the single most significant feature when administering a therapeutic drug for long-term use.

Where does Cannabidiol Oil come from?

CBD is found in abundance in the minimally processed cannabis known as hemp. Even though hemp and marijuana all emanate from the cannabis plant, they are different from each other. For years, farmers have adopted methods to tend to the cannabis strain marijuana due to its high concentrates of THC. However, there are farmers that haven’t modified their hemp plants to produce marijuana. This hemp plants produce cannabidiol oil.

How CBD works

In their entirety, cannabinoids perform very specific functions in body healing, resting, sleeping and overall health including CBD. They attach themselves to receptors all over the body to trigger certain reactions, but most of the receptors are found in the brain.

The body actually has two receptors, CB1 and CB2. CB1 is mainly concentrated in the brain but also found in other parts of the body while CB2 is found in abundance in the body’s immune system. Consequently, CBD influences these receptors across the entire length of the body to produce its own cannabinoids that in turn helps the body start a healing process.

Off all these conditions; Diabetes, Fibromyalgia, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Schizophrenia, Crohn’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and Insomnia; therapeutic treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is the most challenging. Any amounts of THC administered to a patient exacerbated the condition.

However, a recent review indicates the right quantities of CBD alone produced remarkable results in treating patients. In fact, scientists have expanded the scope of treatment to panic disorder, general anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and social anxiety disorder.

In general, therapeutic use of CBD has produced amazing results for people suffering from Diabetes, Fibromyalgia, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Crohn’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Insomnia, and Schizophrenia.

Studies indicate CBD to be safe even in high dosages. Moreover, scientists haven’t noted adverse effects of CBD on the central nervous system. Therefore, CBD therapeutic treatments can be weighed and recommended to patients suffering from the above conditions.

CBD Can Help Relieve Chemotherapy-Induced Nausea and Vomitting

Cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy often undergo trying periods of nausea and vomiting, which are all side effects of the procedure. Nevertheless, chemotherapy remains on the most effective treatments for cancer due to its effectiveness.

However, chemotherapy does a whole lot more do a human body than just treat cancerous cells. Unfortunately, chemo kills healthy cells too. Consequently, the body undergoes tremendous punishment which causes a number of side effects.

These side effects severity depends on overall health, age, and chemo treatment applicable. While some of the side effects often clear-up as chemo comes to an end, others continue well past the treatment. Nausea and vomiting are such side effects.

Well, that was until scientist stumbled upon a startling discovery. Apparently, America Medical Association in the early 1990s pushed for medical cannabis laws amendments to protect cancer sufferers from state prosecution.

The science of cannabinoids (CBD) had proved highly effective in combating the harsh nauseating and vomiting side effects of chemo. For those that have undergone chemo, this is no ordinary nausea. Patients undergo severe bouts of nausea and emesis (vomiting).

Why CBD is effective against Chemo-Induced Nausea and Vomiting

Often, many chemo patients don’t respond to traditional synthetic chemo side effects treatments. Instead, they testify to feeling delusional, drugged and lethargic. CBD has shown extraordinary resilience and effectiveness in treating CINV. Scientists in 1985 undertook well over 30 clinical trials on newly discovered nabilone and dronabinol, which concluded that CBD was superior at the treatment of CBD. CBD managed to alleviate CINV more effectively than any other treatments that existed at the time, and now.

The Machinations behind CBD effectiveness on CINV

CBD is part of the body’s endocannabinoid system. In fact, a healthy human body often manufactures plenty of naturally occurring CBD. Until recently, scientists had not discovered the endocannabinoid system. Perhaps, the endocannabinoid system is the single most functional element of a human body in the sense that it controls basic functions of a body like sleeping, appetite, resting, immune system, etc.

CBD binds to receptors called CB1 and CB2. Receptors detect stimuli or environmental changes to induce a certain reaction from the body. These reactions are reflex in nature involving electrical impulses in the nervous system and bypass the brain. Some of the well-known receptors concentrate on sense organs like eyes, skin, tongue, ears, etc.

Other endocannabinoid system receptors line up along the emetic reflex system, a direct target for CBD compounds found in cannabis. What ensues is a complex series of chemical and electrical pulses process that ends up in producing anti-emetic responses, a key process in combating CINV.

What is the way forward?

Of course, scientists keep making more discoveries, but CBD amongst all elements has proved to be a mild compound with the non-psychoactive characteristic. Even with such groundbreaking discoveries, unfortunately, naturally occurring cannabis does form part of universally accepted clinical guidelines for Oncology.

For as long as medical marijuana still remains illegal at the federal government level, scientist remains somewhat reluctant to sign up more clinical trials. The remaining recourse is for CINV patients to seek treatment from states that have allowed medical cannabis.

Cancer – Scientific Studies That Prove CBD May Help With Cancer

What is Cancer?

Cancer isn’t a disease. Actually, it’s a collection of numerous abnormally growing cells in the body. There exist over 100 types of cancerous cells that manifest themselves in forms of tumors.

Generally, tumor growths are as a result of external triggers, in fact, some are self-inflicted. These include drinking, smoking, carcinogens, viruses and even genetics. Cancer can start from anywhere since the body has trillions of cells. Luckily, researchers are finding remarkable results in their studies that suggest cannabis and cannabidiol (CBD) could be the next cancer treatment frontier. Numerous scientific researchers so far have positive results like in 1996, 2003, 2004, twice in 2011, and 2015, and most recently, in the November 2017 report of WHO.

How does Cancer Grow?

Human cells are living organisms, just like how humans are and comparably, they undergo similar life processes that a human being does. In short, cells come to life, live and die. It is a natural continuously occurring process. The reason is to replace the old and damaged cells with brand new young and functional cells. However, some old and damaged cells do not die while other cells start to divide interminably. In the end, cancerous cells start to accumulate. These cells continuously divide and grow spreading to the surrounding body tissues and organs. Invariably, since these cells hide in the immune system, they eventually form tissue masses called tumors.

As tumors grow, inevitably they would break up into small masses and travel the length of the body via the blood system through the lymphatic system and start new tumors. This process is called metastasis.

As you would imagine, until cancer manifests itself, it undergoes a series of processes and most of the times, when diagnosed early, cancer is treatable.

Conventional treatments

Cancer treatment is therapy; no one single process can treat it. It consumes quite a lot of time and effort to administer medicines or treatments in cycles. Below are some of the current treatment options available for cancer patients.

Surgery- Surgeons can remove tumors to ease pain and pressure against surrounding tissues. Sometimes, surgeons remove adjacent healthy tissues as a precaution to prevent the reemergence of cancerous cells.

Radiation-Cancerous cells subjected to long doses of radiation often die off, unfortunately, with healthy cells too. This process leaves patients exhausted.

Chemotherapy- Drugs exist designed to kill only cancerous cells but often have strong side effects.

Immunotherapy- It’s a process of introducing living organisms in a human body to trigger an immune response thereby killing cancerous cells. Patients suffer flu-like symptoms.

CBD and Cancer

The cannabinoid compounds are exiting the cancer treatment world with some really promising research results. Not only do they treat cancer but they do so with some degree of panache and calmness; no dramatic side effects like chemo and radiation treatments.

Cannabinoids such as Cannabidiol (CBD) act on cancerous cells in a series of activities; by blocking cell growth, by anti-inflammatory activity, by blocking blood supply to tumors, by fighting viruses and by relieving pain.

But that is not all; CBD also improves the patient’s appetite, prevents nausea and vomiting, as well as induce sleep. The beauty of cannabinoids is that the human body receptors are found in the brain, spinal cord, nerve endings, literally the entire length of the body. That means CBD can target cancerous cells anywhere in the body.

What remains is for scientists to develop universally acceptable dosages of CBD to treat cancer and its side effects.  However, in recent findings in the WHO November 2017 report, CBD has proven to be safe and with little to no side effects.
